People condemn those who use premade layouts, but I don’t believe that it’s a sign of no skill. I know I can create my own layouts. That does not mean I cannot use a layout that I happen to find and like.

The homework continues to pile onto my fragile soul.

EDIT: rant ahead. i am so extremely infuriated by the so-called webdesigners who take the nice, techy-looking computer graphics [aka abstract art], make a layout of it with a few brushes, and then it looks really fucking nice. I once came across a layout that I thought was fucking amazing only to find out the main image was from boyis.com and that all the person had done was add a few brushes. I was so pissed at the people in the guestbook going “NICE LAYOUT”. The difference between using anime images and the “abstract art” is that it is more likely that you actually created the abstract art, so people think that you did, when in fact, YOU DID NOT. Want a good example? I’ve seen a few but I don’t remember where. One of them fairly sticks out in my mind [my first encounter with the conspiracy]. www.magicalwings.net/pixuria. If you own this site or love this site, don’t think I’m bashing. Maybe you do make okay layouts. I’m just saying that the layout is really misleading. And it’s not just this site. There are plenty examples around the net. What pisses me off the most is that these images are probably copyrighted, the authors probably don’t want them to be used, and they probably don’t enjoy not being credited. “Image from Boyis.com” is probably my most hated phrase as of now. Okay, I just had to get that off my chest.

I was discouraged to write due to my current hatred of the layout. Yes, I initially liked this green lime bundle of crap but now it has gotten on my bad side and several attempts at making a new layout ended with failure. Thus, I shall continue slaving away in my loyal Adobe PS7 until my brain cells commit suicide.

My testimony – racism. The school has no right to call all Asian male sophomores to the dean due to two stupid acts performed by three Asians. Furthermore, they had no right to search without a valid reason ["they could be in a gang" does not strike me as valid]. Though I stress the fact that it was mostly their own faults, the way that the situation was carried out by the school deemed less than favorable and has left me only angry. I don’t care if it was unintentional racism or not. Racism, nonetheless. Consequences of living in a free country.

sitting cross-legged on a hard plastic rolling chair, eating goldfish, and wondering what the world has come to.

    Cycles

the rain surrounds as a perpetual sanctuary,
    a pitter-patter onto the asphalt.
an automobile disturbs the serenity for but a moment,
sloshing the flooded streets with slick tires.

    the rain continues,
    silver slivers of comfort.

    after the rain has stopped
    water continues to run
    off of roofs
    through pipes
    into grates.

the world is still for a slight break,
and the occassional bird rejoices in symphony.

    after a summer shower
the trees sway in a minimal motion
    beckoning for more
    yet content with the blessing
    as they stand
    green and yellow.
    little pearls of rain remain
    on their waxy leaves.

and then the blue gray clouds let out another batch
    of heaven’s gifts
and the rain pours down upon all of God’s creations.

Written at CTY, which is saying a lot considering I was taking math and not poetry =P. Ah well, I was bored with math and it was raining. But then while I was writing, the rain stopped, so I wrote about that. Then the rain started up again. @_@
