Lamentations

The sweetest joy, the wildest woe is love. What the world really needs is more love and less paperwork.
Pearl Bailey
I’m so stupid. I’m too affected by every single influence I come in contact with that I don’t even know what’s me and what’s a conglomerate of outside factors. I know we are our environment, but now it’s too foreign and also way too integrated. What are my true feelings? Do I even know? I can’t even separate the shallow from the innate.
I just get so wrapped up into something that I can’t even see the big picture.
But perhaps it’s the pixels that count.
Woe is me.

“What the world really needs is more love and less paperwork.”
I love that line. =]
I think every person is influenced by every thing that he/she encounters, but the extent of the influence is determined by the person him/herself. It all depends on perspective and how much the person’s willing to take in and accept. If we didn’t take in any of the outside factors affecting us, then we wouldn’t be the people we are today. Sure we’d be more independent of others opinions and such, but would that make us any better than we are? If we didn’t have the views of others, we wouldn’t be able to consider the experience of those people and their takes on everything. I think we should take a step back and judge the world based on how we see it when we’re not a part of it.
I don’t know if that had any relevance to what you said, but I started typing and it just came out =O

It’s hard to stay unique in the current society so don’t worry about this ‘identity’. God knows how many poems I had to analyse that discussed talk about confront ing true self and identity - it gets a little boring after. Just take into account every one is different, however hackneyed I make it sound. The factors are there to ‘change’ us but nobody reacts in the same way (:
