i realize that i could never do a job where all i do is stare at a computer screen from 9-5, unless it has to do with design. i’m okay with routine hours, but i just can’t work on word and spreadsheets doing administrative things. i’m just not cut out for it. i need a more unconventional career. but do i have the guts? i hope i do.

i like being in the city because i’m always on the go, by myself, taking it all in, thinking of the world as fodder for an unspecified art form. today, walked around soho. after feeling adequately poor, i went to have lobster mac&cheese at macbar (yes, hesitate about buying clothes from topshop, splurge for food always). then i walked over to bowery for iced mocha at think coffee. then i walked over to w. 4th st, spilled what was left of the mocha on the floor of urban outfitters in the sale section, cracking compostable cup. took this as a sign that i wasn’t supposed to buy anything. left ashamedly, cup and dripping mocha in hand. bought a book with a 3yearold gift card (overly giddy when salesman told me i still had $20 on it]. tried to hide my smile by biting my lip while reading book on subway. i don’t know what’s wrong with me sometimes.
